Inspired Readers Festival
The Inspired Readers Festival is back for its second year, continuing our mission to foster a love of reading amongst young regional Australians connecting primary school students to Australia’s most cherished authors. This festival is about bringing the joy of books and the magic of storytelling to communities. This year, we’re excited to take the festival to a new location – Port Macquarie!
Meet the Authors
School Author Sessions*
Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November 2024 | Charles Sturt University, Port Macquarie | From 9:30am - 2:30pm
The festival’s School Author Sessions offers an inspiring opportunity for students to interact with their favourite authors and nurture a lifelong passion for reading. Over two days, four cherished children’s authors will host engaging sessions tailored specifically for both Year K-3 and Year 4-6 students. Students will enjoy four educational and interactive sessions and celebrate at the Book End Party, where they can meet authors, get books signed, enjoy face painting, and more.
Students can get their favourite authors' books at a discounted rate by purchasing a Book Coupon online before the festival.
*School Author Session presentations are the same each day. To avoid duplication, students only need to attend one day.

Fundraising Dinner
Thursday 7 November | The Westport Club | From 6:30pm
The festival will wrap with the Fundraising Dinner at The Westport Club, raising essential funds to enrich school libraries in the Mid-North Coast region with brand new books of choice.
Take part in an inspiring Q&A Panel with Australia’s best children’s authors whilst enjoying a two-course meal, silent auction, raffles and much more! It is a crucial evening to support the festival’s mission, uniting educators, authors, sponsors, philanthropists and the community in a shared goal – promoting literacy.
