Lowanna Public School's Library Regeneration Program, NSW

Lowanna Public School’s Principal, Harmonie Ricketts tells Dymocks Children’s Charities of the joy their Library Regeneration program has brought their students; “The students are very excited about being able to borrow the new books. We have seen an improvement in the number of students reading in their free time. They are so engaged in these quality texts.”

We were thrilled to recently provide Lowanna Public School with over 260 new books, chosen especially by the school's teaching staff to fill in the gaps in their current library offering.  Harmonie highlighted the access to quality titles as the most valuable benefit of the program, commenting that “Being a small school, it is hard to fund the replenishment of our library with new resources.”

We understand that due to constrained budgets and a lack of funding, schools are forced to choose between equally important necessities, and are not always able to prioritise books for their libraries; which is why we are so glad to be able to support schools like Lowanna Public School with the help of our invaluable supporters. We wish the school community lots of happy borrowing and reading for years to come!
